When the State of Nebraska awarded the Buffalo Bill Award for Family Entertainment to Peter
Sherayko, he gained recognition not only as an actor in such major films as Tombstone, Flight of the
Intruder, and Death Wish IV, but also as a technical consultant. An aficionado of the Old West,
Peter created Caravan West Productions, a company formed to bring integrity to the Hollywood
Western and provide today’s sophisticated and demanding film audience with the most authentic
product possible.
Most companies care about the bottom line. Here at Caravan West we believe in art, to do the best
possible job we are capable of and we're proud to sign our names to what we do. True art, enduring
art, was never made by a committee, but by individuals with a passion. Our staff is composed of
just such people.
Our head wrangler has been schooling movie horses for over 25 years. They are stone broke so that
even a "quarter horse cowboy" can sit there and look like they know what they're doing. (A quarter
horse cowboy is one who is capable of riding the horses outside a grocery store for a quarter.)
When our head wrangler is not working on a film, he guides hunters and neophyte horsemen into the
Rocky Mountains.
Our assistant wranglers are professional bull riders, horse trainers and trick riders, people so
comfortable on a horse they are wedded groin to back and thereby make any actor, no matter what
his skill level, comfortable, secure and confident.
Our technical advisor can guide your costumer to the correct, historically accurate look instead
of a pablum fed cliche ridden look we so often see.
Our head costumer not only designs the right look, but alters and makes specialty items.
Our armorer has over 35 years of experience as a gunsmith specializing in 19th century firearms.
If a gun breaks as they sometimes do, he can fix it. We pride ourselves on the hundreds of shows
we've participated in to have little or no downtime.
